This sweeping landscape of the town of Sutri, outside of Rome, in one respect, pays homage to its Etruscan/Roman/Medieval history. But for me, I was immediately struck by the cubist lines of the townscape which I have embellished with exaggerated contrasting colours. The sky is deliberately given infinite depth. The town is notable as as stopover for pilgrims walking the Via Francengina and is a hidden jewel in this part of Lazio which is easily passed by.
