This piece is the precursor to a future exhibition of landmark properties/streets that are part of the memories of my youth. This property on the corner of Moruben Rd and Mandolong Rd in Mosman is also on my current everyday route to my studio in Georges Heights. The huge jacaranda, the turret, the massive sweeping left-handed corner that takes you to Balmoral Beach, are all so familiar. I’m continuing with the investigation into contrasting principles and colour plains along with extensive detail (each leaf on the jacaranda was individually painted). The text messages were added as a reference to a constant stream of requests for directions to my studio while painting the picture.
